Psychosomatic disorders

“The body is the translator for the soul into what is visible”
– C. Morgenstern –

Psychological, physical, mental and social factors interact continuously with each other, whether we talk about health, or in cases where a state of malaise is established.
The psychosomatic model attributes a lot of significance to psychic and psychosocial factors in the development and healing of physical suffering, just as physical factors are considered equally co-responsible for the onset of psychic disorders.

Consequently, in the treatment of different psychological and physical disorders, therapeutic approaches are used that not only intervene on the elimination of physical symptoms, but also take into account all aspects of the onset and maintenance of the disorder itself.
This is concretized in a particular way through psychotherapy, available in our clinic, which allows us to develop -together with the subject- new points of view. It also works for a change in the conditions that cause the malaise.

In our center, psychotherapy is integrated with other body-type approaches, which have shown positive effects in the progress of healing of different disorders. We work in teams to leverage and channel the knowledge of different therapists, in order to improve treatment planning. In addition to strictly psychic disorders, such as somatoform disorders, we also treat a number of psychological disorders, most of which are related to important physical symptoms.

  • Depressions of mild and medium magnitude;
  • Anxiety disorders (e.g. panic disorder, social phobia, specific phobias and generalized anxiety disorders);
  • Obsessive disorders;
  • Trauma and stress-related disorders;
  • Somatoform disorders such as hypochondria and chronic pain.
