Collective apartments

Città Azzurra has been collaborating with the Istituto per l’Edilizia Agevolata of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano for several decades and in collaboration with the Department of Social Affairs and with the Psychiatric Services of the Südtiroler Sanitätsbetrieb has developed a project that provides the allocation of 2 to 4 places’ apartments for psychiatric patients with a mid-high degree of autonomy.

Who do we turn to?

The cooperative therefore supports all those users who for various reasons fail or lost the right to access the IPES rankings for the allocation of accommodation. We offer assistance to the rehabilitation path, accompanying the preparation of meals where required and generic assistance for the daily activities of the psychiatric patient.

The apartments are assigned by IPES to the cooperative that assigns seats to users according to a ranking drawn up by the various Centers for Mental Health.

For the assignment of a seat, the user must be able to meet the expected expenses such as rent, utilities, insurance, assistance and services on request.

How does the project work?

Specifically, this initiative, always in partnership with the public body, supports the rehabilitation process of the user in his support process, drastically saves the Sanitätsbetrieb, who is not required to guarantee high costs beds and at the same time provides a structured service that offers the user:

an administrative activity of intermediation in finding accommodation;
assistance in managing the tasks and formalities related to the autonomous management of an apartment;
an interview activity with the user/family, with representatives of the structures of origin and exchange of documentation;
the preparation of a service plan involving the user;
support and training in home management/administration (e.g. cooking, cleaning, washing, shopping, managing contacts with banks and authorities, condominium administrations);
continuous assessment and verification of user needs and progress.

The project, which is individualized, also evaluates all the functional areas of the user himself and transfers them to the Cooperative, which takes charge through the provision of hours of accompaniment and administrative management, which are programmed ad personam.
